I was involved in an accident with another vehicle. What information do I need to get from them?

If you’re in a collision with another car, there are certain pieces of information you’ll need to collect from the person driving the other car:

  • Name and contact information of the driver and vehicle owner
  • Driver's license number
  • Their insurance information (company name and policy number)
  • The year, make and model of their vehicle
  • License plate number
  • Number of occupants in their vehicle at the time of the accident

Heads up! No matter what, don’t wait to get this information from the other driver. Collect it immediately at the scene of the collision, whether you’re writing it down or saving it in your phone.
