The sole determinant of time for the purpose of receipt of a valid entry will be the Sponsor’s server(s).

3. ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is only open to legal residents of the province of Alberta who are age of majority in the province of Alberta at the time of entry, and who hold valid Alberta teaching certification, and teach, either full or part-time (less than 1.0 full time equivalent), in an Alberta accredited school (each, an “Entrant”). This Contest is not open to employees, officers, directors, representatives or agents of the Sponsor, the National Hockey League Players’ Association (the “NHLPA”), their affiliates, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, contest administrators, any other parties engaged in the development, production or distribution of Contest materials, and the spouses, partners, children or persons residing in the same household whether related or not.

The Sponsor shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility, in a form acceptable to the Sponsor, to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof to the Sponsor in a timely manner may result in disqualification from the Contest. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the Sponsor for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. By participating in this Contest, Entrants acknowledge compliance with and agree to be bound by all Contest Rules, and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final with respect to all matters relating to the Contest. Entrants who do not comply with any of the Contest Rules are subject to disqualification by the Sponsor, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, whose decisions shall be final.

4. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

There is only one (1) way to enter: online via the Contest website at https://www.sonnet.ca/alberta-teachers. No other method of entry will be accepted. To enter the Contest, visit www.sonnet.ca/alberta-teachers during the Contest Period on your computer or mobile device and click on the Contest banners, buttons and/or links to access the online entry form for the Contest. During the Contest Period, fully and accurately complete all mandatory fields on the Contest entry form, including first name, last name, telephone number, email address, address, name and address of school you will teach at for 2021/2022 school year, consent to enter the Contest, accept the terms and conditions and submit the completed Contest entry form. If you choose to enter using your mobile device, standard data rates apply. Each wireless carrier’s data rate plan may vary, and you should contact your wireless carrier for information on data rate plans and charges relating to your participation in this Contest.

Limit of one (1) entry per teacher during the Contest Period will be considered for the purposes of this Contest.
Multiple entries will not increase an Entrant’s chance of winning and Sponsor may disqualify Entrants that enter this Contest more than once according to the above entry method in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed or otherwise illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, including, but not limited to, creating multiple accounts, identities or registrations, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or winning the Prize, all in the Sponsor’s sole discretion. All entries will be declared invalid if they are late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, forged, garbled or mechanically or electronically reproduced or do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of the Contest Rules. Entries for this Contest become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Each Entrant agrees that his/her entry was not created by any third party.

5. PRIZE:

One (1) Winner will be randomly selected from all Entrants and the Winner’s school (“School”) will receive a virtual visit from an NHLPA player (the “Prize”). The selection of the NHLPA player, as well as the date, duration, timing and details of the Prize visit, will be determined by the Sponsor and the NHLPA in their sole and absolute discretion. The Sponsor will coordinate the Prize visit with the Winner and the School.

The Prize is subject to the following conditions: (i) the Prize will only be awarded to the person verified as the Winner; (ii) the Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-changeable once issued, must be accepted as awarded and has no cash value; (iii) the Prize will be awarded to the Winner at the School; and (iv) Winner and/or School may also be required to sign agreements with the Sponsor in order to receive the Prize. Winner assumes any and all liability for the death or bodily injury of any person, or the damage, loss or destruction of any real or physical personal property caused, or claimed to be caused, by entering or participating in this Contest, or use or redemption of the Prize.

The Winner must follow all direction of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Prize. Failure to follow the directions of the Sponsor may result in termination of participation, or continued participation, in the Prize, all in the Sponsor’s sole discretion.

In the event that the Prize, or any component of the Prize, cannot be awarded as described for any reason, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or part thereof) with an alternate prize of comparable or greater value, for any reason without notice or liability, in its sole and absolute discretion. In the event that a substitute prize is awarded, such prize must be accepted “as-is”, may not be exchanged and has no cash value.

The odds of winning the Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

6. WINNER SELECTION:

One (1) Winner will be selected as follows:

On November 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. ET (the “Draw Date”) at 351 King St E, Toronto ON, M5A 2W4, one (1) Entrant will be randomly selected from amongst all eligible entries received during the Contest Period by an employee, agent or other representative of the Sponsor (the “Selected Entrant”).

Selected Entrant will be contacted by the Sponsor by the email address provided at time of entry. If the Selected Entrant cannot be contacted or fails to respond within forty-eight (48) hours of the first attempt of contact by the Sponsor, they will be considered to have forfeited his/her Prize and will be disqualified and another Entrant may be selected, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, from the remaining eligible entries until such time as contact is made with the Selected Entrant or there are no more eligible entries, time permitting. In the event that an alternate Selected Entrant is required to be selected, the same above-noted process will be followed. The Sponsor is not responsible for unsuccessful attempts to notify the Selected Entrant. The Sponsor will not enter into telephone contact or other correspondence in association with the Contest, except with the Selected Entrant.

Upon successful contact with the Selected Entrant, Selected Entrant will be required to provide certain contact information, as requested by the Sponsor (full name, age, email address, municipality and province/territory of residence and telephone number). Before being declared a winner (“Winner”), the Selected Entrant will be required to: (i) correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, the Sponsor’s time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; (ii) comply with all Contest Rules; (iii) provide written confirmation (in a form approved by the Sponsor) from his/her School’s principal authorizing acceptance by the Selected Entrant of the Prize; and (iv) sign and return or submit, as applicable, a completed copy of the Sponsor’s Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (the “Sponsor’s Release”), all in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. The School may also be required to sign agreements with the Sponsor in order to receive the Prize.

If the Selected Entrant: (i) fails to correctly answer the Sponsor’s skill-testing question; (ii) fails to comply with all Contest Rules; (iii) fails to provide written confirmation from his/her School; (iv) fails to sign and return the Sponsor’s Release within the specified timeframe; (v) cannot accept the Prize for any reason; and/or (vi) or the School is not property verified and the Selected Entrant or the School do not meet the requirements set forth in the Contest Rules, then he or she will be disqualified from the Contest and another Entrant will be selected by way of a random draw (in which case all Contest Rules will apply to such new Selected Entrant). In the event there is no Selected Entrant that has complied with all Contest Rules, the Prize will not be awarded. The Sponsor is not responsible, whether as a result of human error or otherwise, for any failure to contact any Selected Entrant. The Sponsor will contact the Winner to arrange for delivery of the Prize following receipt of the Sponsor’s Release.

7. INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:

(a) By submitting an entry into this Contest, each Entrant confirms his or her understanding of and compliance with these Contest Rules. (c) The Released Parties are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or for any technical malfunctions or human error which may occur in the processing of entries, the selection of the Winner or for any printing or other errors in any Contest materials.
